Tristan & Isolde

Designing for a cinematic adaption of the tale of Tristan and Isolde I looked to the art of Arthur Rackham for inspiration. Rackham’s artwork is that of extreme beauty and ethereal awe. I focused on the freedom of line and flow of composition in my interpretation. 

The tale is an epic love story centering on a love triangle between Isolde, an Irish princess, Tristan, an English warrior and Lord Marke, an English lord, that sees love struggle against family loyalties, war, duty and love of country.
