Roxelana

The inspiration for my collection comes from one of the most famous and powerful queens of the Ottoman Empire, Roxelana (Hurrem) who was enslaved to work at the palace at a very young age. She was eventually freed and became the legal wife of the most powerful king of Ottoman, Suleiman the Magnificent.

I expressed determination, courage, cruelty and the high spirit of Roxelana, in a contemporary way, with exaggerated panels, different volumes in shapes of waves, which are perfectly suited to the royal inspiration.
